Locally gathered rock, soil and clay are transformed into watercolor in ELEMENTAL 05 and 06.
The process behind my ELEMENTAL series exposes layers of earthen material to water, wind, and heat, gradually forming ethereal compositions.
Among the most atmospheric works in the series, layers are built and dissolved intuitively, allowing traces of the process to remain embedded within the surface. The earthen pigments take on an ethereal quality, dissolving into subtle fields of pigment, movement, and tonal variation.
